Isaiah 11:10

And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, Which shall stand for an ensign of the people: To it shall the Gentiles seek: And his rest shall be glorious.

Song of Solomon 6:9

My dove, my undefiled is but one; she is the only one of her mother, she is the choice one of her that bare her. The daughters saw her, and blessed her; yea, the queens and the concubines, and they praised her.

From its beginnings the Church of God of Prophecy has based it beliefs on the “whole Bible rightly divided.”  We accept the Bible as God’s holy Word, inspired, inerrant, and infallible.  We believe the Bible to be God’s written revelation of Himself to mankind and our guide in all matters of faith, therefore we look to the Bible as our highest authority for doctrine, practice, organization and discipline.  The Church of God of Prophecy uses the Authorized King James Version exclusively, RIGHTLY DIVIDED.  To do otherwise would be in direct disobedience to God’s Holy Word.

It was a strong desire to rely solely on the Bible that led the early pioneers of the Church to declare their willingness to be free from all man-made creeds and traditions, to take the New Testament as the only rule of faith and practice, and to give each other equal rights and privileges to read and interpret the Bible as their consciences may dictate.  These basic teachings remain intact today, however, it was seen that, as the Church grew and spread throughout the world, there was safety in a “multitude of counselors” when making doctrinal decision.  Thus today, all doctrinal matters are agreed upon in one accord by the General Assembly.

The Church of God of Prophecy is firm in its commitment to orthodox Christian belief.  We affirm that there is one God, externally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.  We believe in the deity of Christ, in his virgin birth, in His sinless life, in the physical miracles performed, in His atoning death on the cross, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory as His second coming.  We profess that regeneration by the Holy Spirit is essential for the salvation of sinful man.  We believe that in sanctification by the blood of Christ one is made holy.  We affirm the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling we are able to live godly lives and have power for service.  We believe in the ultimate unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.  We are committed to the sanctity of the marriage bond, and the importance of strong, loving Christian families.

Furthermore, the Church makes prominent many other biblical doctrines which have clear New Testaments support but which are not always espoused by modern Christianity.

The Church of God of Prophecy is a last-days movement functioning in approximately 100 nations.  It has, as its purpose, to bear witness for Christ and His truth and to spread the gospel of the Kingdom in all of its fullness and power, so that the rule of God is brought about in the hearts of men.
